Amazing Pictures and Great For the Kids - A Nature Book Review

Often humans get too caught up in the city environment that they’ve created, and while it is true that we have created astounding works of art, architecture and massive infrastructure, we must also realize that there is a lot more too our world that the concrete under our feet. If you have children perhaps you can relate to the need to explain to them about the rest of the world, that which they do not see.

They will be intrigued and find a new set of values for their surroundings and curiosity of nature. Perhaps it is for this reason that I’d like to go out on a limb and recommend a very good book to you. One which you can allow your children to look through and one they will love. The book is called:

“The World of Nature” By Robin Dunbar; Multimedia Publications, UK; 1985; ISBN: 0 8317 96197

In this book you children will indeed learn about nature on all seven continents; North and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Antarctica. They will also learn about nature here in the United States; our deserts, everglades, mighty rivers, mountain ranges, glaciers and coastlines. But, they will also see how things are different and less tame on the African Continent. The giant herds of wild animals, birds, ferocious felines, and landscape.

There are few books like this that can be used both, as a children’s book, and an educational reference, but this is one of them. If you purchase this book, it will likely be in your family for years. Please consider teaching your children all you can about nature, this book is a great start indeed.
